Hello everyone! I'm Alauna, the proud owner of  LexBakeCakes LLC!  Baking and decorating cakes, cupcakes, and more has been a passion of mine for about five years. Watching baking competitions on Food Network with my twin sister Alexis sparked this interest. We were fascinated by the talented bakers on the shows and wondered how they created such amazing cakes. Alexis took the initiative to learn first, starting with baking from scratch – Oooey Gooey Cakes, Chocolate Cakes, Lemon Cakes, and eventually her favorite, Red Velvet Cake.​

Impressed by her treats, I decided to join in and take it a step further by decorating them. Experimenting with fondant, creating buttercreams, and playing with colors and flavors, I started making birthday cakes for my six kids.

In 2016, my twin sister Alexis (Lex) was diagnosed with Stage 3 breast cancer. Despite her treatments, her love for sweet treats remained strong. She even made pink moscato cupcakes for her chemotherapy nurses as a token of appreciation. After a courageous battle, she passed away in September 2019. Her purpose fulfilled, she now thrives in heaven.

Losing my twin and best friend was devastating. Our identities were intertwined from birth, and her absence left me feeling lost. I struggled to engage in activities we used to enjoy together, including baking. With the support of my family, church, and a lot of prayer, I rediscovered my passion. I resumed baking, honing my skills and creating intricate designs. Positive feedback from people led me to start baking cakes and cupcakes for their special occasions.

And thus, LexBakeCakes was born! The name is a play on "Let's Bake Cakes" while serving as a tribute to my best friend, my twin, Alexis (Lex) Larry. She remains my inspiration in the kitchen, guiding me to greater heights!
